NCLR's Annual Conference is the largest gathering of its kind in the Hispanic community, serving as the meeting ground for over 20,000 community organization leaders, activists, and volunteers; elected and appointed officials; members of the corporate, philanthropic, and academic communities; senior citizens; college students; and youth.
NCLR’s 40th Anniversary is in 2008, and we kicked off our yearlong celebration on March 3 with the Official Grand Opening of the Raul Yzaguirre Building and Dedication of the new Plaza de los Afiliados. NCLR's partners, friends, and familia gathered on this special day to unveil this permanent landmark for the Hispanic community in the nation’s capitol only a few blocks from the White House.
Throughout the year, NCLR will celebrate with events and activities highlighting four decades of impact and influence in the Latino community and setting an agenda to continue our work in building a hopeful future for millions.
The NCLR ALMA Awards honors outstanding Latino artistic achievement in television, film, and music and the enhancement of the Latino image in the entertainment industry. The show has established a following around the country and has made inroads for Latinos in Hollywood both in front of and behind the camera.
The NCLR Capital Awards is the only Hispanic event that recognizes members of Congress from both sides of the aisle for their outstanding support of public policies that are vital to Hispanic Americans. In addition, the Public Service Award honors others outside of Washington who courageously and tirelessly advocate on behalf of the Latino community.
Give voice to Latino priorities! The NCLR National Issue Briefing and Advocacy Day is an opportunity for you to work with other Latino community organizations in holding your elected officials accountable for and responsive to the needs of the Hispanic community in the United States, and for all Americans. Come to our nation’s capital to strengthen the policies concerning health care, educational opportunities, economic mobility, criminal justice, and comprehensive immigration reform.
